Surrey mum and children’s author releases Christmas single Santa, Where Are You? on 6 November
A Christmas Eve search for Santa with a lamp became the chorus. Years later the song is finished, and it arrives alongside her four picture books, The Adventures of Logan and Louis.
Surrey/Hampshire border, 11 October 2026: Children’s author and singer-songwriter Sonia Badu-Boateng releases her Christmas single Santa, Where Are You? on Friday 6 November 2026 on Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music and all major streaming services.
The song began one Christmas Eve when Sonia’s eldest son, then very small, kept asking where Santa was. “I wrote him a letter from Santa, and we took a little Christmas lamp and went looking for him,” says Sonia. “It was such a magical moment that the tune for the chorus arrived there and then. It stayed in my head for years. I finally finished the song at the end of September and completed it with my producer on 2 October.”
The finished track is a warm Christmas song for families to sing together. It is Sonia’s second single, following her debut, Butterflies, released earlier this year, which marked her first step from picture books into music and is available on Spotify, Apple Music and Amazon Music.
Santa, Where Are You? was not written to go with Sonia’s picture books, but it has found a natural home beside them. Her series The Adventures of Logan and Louis, inspired by her sons and published under the family’s own label, BB & Co Imaginations, includes The Magic Pen, a Christmas story, as well as Lost in the Woods, Kenya Safari and The Great Easter Rescue.
Sonia will be signing books at four Christmas markets this winter: the Aldershot Christmas Cracker (Saturday 14 November), Farnborough Frost Fair (Saturday 21 November), Staines Prep Winter Market (Saturday 28 November) and Pamber Heath Memorial Hall (Sunday 29 November).
